Panel: How can the European Research programmes contribute to emission reduction and monitoring?
After a brief overview of the INCITE initiative, we debate progress made in the following three areas of steelmaking with practical RFCS examples.
• CIRCULAR ECONOMY (InSGeP, OnlyPlastic)
• DECARBONISATION (Hy4Smelt, H2Loop)
• DEPOLLUTION & H2 COMBUSTION (HYDREAMS)
The Panelists:
Panel chair: Andreas Jenet: Project advisor, European Commission.
European Research Executive Agency (REA)
Andreas is a project advisor at the European Research Executive Agency (REA), coordinating feedback from Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS) projects to Commission policy services. His work focuses on low‑carbon steelmaking, the circular economy, and industrial modernization. Previously, he was an officer at the Joint Research Centre (JRC), working on standardization and the research–policy interface. An engineer with a PhD from ETH Zurich, he brings over 20 years of experience in greenhouse gas mitigation and environmental impact assessment.
